One of my favorite songs

And she runs through her days with a smile on her face
And she runs, and she waits, and I wait

We can drive to anyplace, day or night, across the state
And in the morning, into Mexico, we will wake up

I find a window in the kitchen, and I let myself in
Rummage through the refrigerator, find myself a beer
I can’t believe I’m really here, and she’s lying in that bed
I can almost feel her touch, and her anxious breath!

I stumble in the hallway, against the bedroom door
I hear her call out to me, I hear the fear in her voice
She pulls the covers tighter, I press against the door

I will be with her tonight!
I know it sounds a bit twisted but this is one of my all time favorite songs to sing along to. After reading the lyrics it sounds like a song about rape but I prefer to interperet it as a more happy song about a desire for relationships. Besides the melody is so wonderfully happy sounding that I could never interperet it as dark as some of the lyrics suggest.

Am I sick for loving this song?

  1. no….

well maybe not sick, but not altogether entirely normal either.
unfortunately in todays society we no longer have a norm.
apparently, my love of flashing my boobs at unsuspecting people in safehouse can be VERY serious by todays standards.
public nudity is now considered a “SEX OFFENSE” and i could end up on wanted posters. which would suck. or as a “special guest star” on an episode of L&O SVU. which would be cool.
wow i have lost ALL concept of reality.
    damn the man!

  2. No way, dude. I love this song, too.

But I already know that I’m sick, and I don’t need a song to reaffirm it. Actually, this song reminds me of a girl I knew in high school.

    *sigh.* Memories.
